The 87th death anniversary of the great philosopher, thinker, and Poet of the East, Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, is being observed today to acknowledge his struggle and services for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.
According to details, Allama Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877 in Sialkot. He was a remarkable representative of the Muslims of the subcontinent and one of the main exponents of the Pakistan Movement. Allama Iqbal passed away on 21 April 1938.
The poet of the East, Allama Iqbal, used to write poetry in Urdu and Persian, and this is the main reason for his fame. His primary inclination in poetry was towards mysticism and the revival of the Islamic Ummah.
Allama Iqbal is considered the mystic of the modern era. As a politician, his most notable achievement was the formation of the idea of Pakistan, which he presented in 1930 while presiding over the Muslim League session in Allahabad.
This idea later became the foundation for the creation of Pakistan. For this reason, Allama Iqbal is regarded as the ideological father of Pakistan. Although he did not live to see the creation of this new country, he holds the status of Pakistan’s national poet.
