Police have arrested a TikToker, Kashif Zameer, and a police officer in Lahore and have filed a first information report (FIR) against them under the PECA Act for disrespecting a police uniform in a video that went viral on social media.
As per media reports, Police have registered cases against TikToker Kashif Zameer and a police officer for ridiculing the police uniform in a viral video.
According to the police spokesperson, the FIR includes serious charges under PECA and other laws.
The incident took place during a wedding event, where Zameer handed a tray full of cash to a uniformed officer and was later seen throwing money from it himself.
The FIR states that the act publicly damaged the reputation of the police department.
Officials added that Zameer tried to cover up the act by editing the viral clip with artificial intelligence to change the colour of the officer’s uniform and mislead the public.
This is not the first instance TikToker Kashif Zameer is in trouble with the law, he had earlier been arrested for defrauding Ertugrul star Engin Altan Duzyatan by inviting him to visit Pakistan besides posting him bogus cheques worth Rs90 million for appointing him as the brand ambassador of his fake company.
Kashif Zameer was also arrested once again for possessing a vehicle with a fake government number along with a blue light, arms, and artificial jewellery.
