Pakistan’s rising television actress Mehrunisa Iqbal has tied the knot in a modest yet elegant ceremony held in the United Kingdom.
Best known for her impressive performance in the drama serial “Ishqiya”, Mehrunisa’s nikah ceremony took place at London’s controversial worship site, Masjid Fazl.
The intimate event was attended by close family members, friends, and prominent figures including Shehbaz Taseer, son of the late Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, and his wife Neha Taseer.
Mehrunisa married Zakaria, a young man residing in the UK. The union was reportedly a love match, and both families fully supported the couple’s decision.
Prior to the wedding, Mehrunisa had shared her Mayun and Mehndi photos on social media, while pictures from her nikah and rukhsati were later shared online by friends, quickly going viral. Fans flooded the posts with heartfelt congratulations and prayers for the newlyweds.

However, the venue of the nikah has stirred some controversy in the media. The ceremony was held at Masjid Fazl, claimed to be London’s first mosque, which is under the ownership of the Ahmadiyya community.
According to Pakistani law, Ahmadi places of worship cannot be legally referred to as mosques.
As per Wikipedia, Masjid Fazl was founded by the second caliph of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat, Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmood Ahmad.
The wedding continues to trend on social media, with many praising the simplicity of the ceremony, while others debate the religious and legal implications of the venue.
