In a heartbreaking incident, a pregnant woman was shot and killed by robbers in the Faqeera Goth area of Karachi’s SITE Super Highway. The victim, Saima, was a mother of three and was expecting her fourth child.
According to details, the incident occurred when Saima’s husband, Irfan, was taking her to the hospital. Two armed men on a motorcycle intercepted them in an apparent robbery attempt. During the robbery, the assailants snatched Irfan’s mobile phone and tried to take Saima’s purse as well.
In a desperate act of resistance, Saima pushed one of the robbers, causing him to fall off the bike. Enraged, the robbers opened fire, fatally injuring her before fleeing the scene.
In a tearful conversation with Aaj News, Irfan recounted the tragedy, struggling to hold back tears as he said, “My wife was pregnant. We have three small children — who will take care of them now?”
He appealed to senior authorities for justice, urging them to arrest the culprits and ensure they receive the punishment they deserve.
This tragic incident marks yet another grim addition to the rising number of fatal robberies in Karachi. So far this year, 26 people have lost their lives to street crime involving firearms in the city.
