To address the persistent traffic congestion in Quaidabad, Karachi, Sindh’s Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani has announced the construction of a new bridge, set to commence in April.
During a media briefing, the minister highlighted the plan to build a major bridge at a key connecting hub in Karachi, aiming to alleviate traffic flow in the area.
He also remarked that new canals drawing water from the Indus River cannot be constructed without Sindh’s approval. Ghani further emphasized the importance of equitable water distribution across the country and adherence to constitutional principles.
Meanwhile, Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has revealed ongoing efforts to extend the Malir Expressway to the port, a move aimed at reducing the city’s traffic congestion.
The mayor explained that permitting heavy vehicles to utilize the Malir Expressway would significantly reduce the pressure on other city roads, as heavy traffic is a primary contributor to delays and wasted time for citizens.
