Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched the 8070 Ramadan Relief Package 2025 to support low-income families in Pakistan. The initiative is worth Rs20 billion and aims to provide financial aid and essential food subsidies.
According to national media, the package is intended to ease the financial burden on families ahead of the holy month of Ramzan. The package consists of two main components including direct cash assistance and ration subsidies on essential food items.
Cash assistance: Each eligible family will receive Rs10,000 in direct financial aid.
Ration subsidy: Discounts will be provided on flour, sugar, pulses, ghee, and rice to ensure affordability.
Eligibility criteria
Beneficiaries must be registered under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) or the Ehsaas Programme.
Applicants must not be receiving aid from any other government relief program.
A valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) is required for eligibility.
Registration process
Individuals can register through the official PSER portal by submitting their CNIC and mobile number.
Registration is also possible via SMS by sending the CNIC number to 8070.
After verification, eligible families will receive further instructions on fund disbursement.
Disbursement of funds
The government has introduced multiple disbursement channels to ensure smooth distribution.
Bank transfers:
Aid will be directly deposited into accounts in HBL, UBL, and Bank Alfalah.
Mobile wallets:
Beneficiaries can access funds via Easypaisa and JazzCash.
Ehsaas Program Centers:
Those without bank accounts can collect aid from designated centers.
Union Council Offices:
Local government offices will facilitate final verification and fund collection.
