The Champions Trophy Group B fixture between Australia and South Africa in Rawalpindi was abandoned on Tuesday due to rain and a wet outfield.
Australia and South Africa both earned a point each after winning their tournament openers against England and Afghanistan, respectively.
Australia kicked off its campaign with a nail-biting five-wicket victory over England, chasing down a target of 352 with 15 balls to spare. Josh Inglis stole the show with a stunning unbeaten 120 off 86 balls, rescuing Australia after they found themselves at 4-136.
A notable highlight from the match was Marnus Labuschagne’s resurgence in form, scoring 47 off 45 and claiming 2-41 with the ball.

Wicketkeeper Alex Carey, playing solely as a batter due to Inglis’s presence, contributed a crucial 69 off 63 balls. Carey also took three catches in the field, including a spectacular one-handed catch at mid-on to dismiss opener Phil Salt for 10.
South Africa also began its tournament on a positive note, posting 6-315 in a commanding 107-run win over Afghanistan.
Australia’s last group game is against Afghanistan on Friday with England facing South Africa in Karachi on Saturday.
