The court has sent Mohajir Qaumi Movement chairman Afaq Ahmed to jail on judicial remand in the vehicle arson case.
According to a report by national media, the hearing of the case against Mohajir Qaumi Movement chairman Afaq Ahmed was held in the court of the Judicial Magistrate West in Karachi, where Afaq Ahmed was presented before the court.
During the hearing, the investigating officer requested the court for Afaq Ahmed’s physical remand, which was rejected by the court. The court sent Afaq Ahmed to jail on judicial remand and summoned the case challan from the investigating officer in the next hearing.
Meanwhile, during Afaq Ahmed’s court appearance, Mohajir Qaumi Movement workers chanted slogans outside the lockup and demanded action against the dumper mafia. Afaq Ahmed, the key figure of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement, had rarely been seen attending court hearings in previous years. He is known for his political rivalry with MQM (Pakistan).
While political clashes, negotiations, and statements were ongoing in the past, Afaq Ahmed’s party appears displeased with the legal action against its leader, and the party’s supporters have also expressed concern.
