Parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Swat, Dir, Chitral, and the adjacent areas were jolted by an earthquake on Tuesday، causing panic among the citizens.
According to the Seismological Center, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded as 5.1 in Swat and its surrounding areas, the depth of the earthquake was 166 kilometers, while the epicenter was in the border areas of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.
Due to the earthquake, people came out of their homes reciting the Kalima Tayyaba۔ No casualties were reported.
It should be remembered that earthquake tremors were felt in Swat district and its surrounding areas in the past few days. The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded as 4.5 on the Richter scale, the depth of the earthquake was 80 kilometers, while its epicenter was the mountain range of Mount Hindu Kush.
A few days back, earthquake tremors were also felt in Pakistan’s capital city Islamabad, and surrounding areas, however, no casualty or financial loss were reported.
