The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a new service in Karachi to provide citizens with greater convenience.

According to a report by Express Tribune on Saturday, starting January 20th, the initiative will allow residents to obtain and renew national identity cards and access other services without the need to wait in long lines.

Initially, three bikers will operate in Karachi, while Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas will each have one bike. The fleet will expand with an additional ten bikes in the coming days.

The bikers will be equipped with backpacks containing the necessary processing equipment to serve citizens at their homes, with an added fee of Rs1,000, which includes Rs825 for the service and Rs175 for delivery.

In a related update, NADRA has decided to shut down its website and offer services exclusively through a mobile app to combat fraudulent activity that has exploited fake websites to misuse citizens’ personal information.

Additionally, 4-hour passport counters have been set up at NADRA Mega Centres across the country, including in Karachi, where citizens can access passport services 24/7 at designated counters.
