As many as eight Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists were eliminated in two different intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), six Khawarij were neutralized when the security forces effectively targeted their hideout during an intelligence-based operation in District Tank.
In the second intelligence-based operation conducted in Tirah Valley of Khyber District, security forces gunned down two terrorists.
Sanitization operations were being conducted to eliminate any other Khawarji found in the area.
A large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the hideouts of the slain terrorists who were involved in numerous attacks on members of the security forces and the public.
The ISPR statement said that the security forces stand first against terrorists and are determined to thwart attempts aimed at sabotaging the peace and progress of the country.
It may be mentioned here that the security force had killed 27 terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan. On 12 January 2025, security forces conducted an IBO in the Kacchi district of Balochistan, and after an intense fire exchange, 27 terrorists were killed.
It said the troops also destroyed multiple hideouts of the militants during the operation.
