PTI negotiating team spokesman Hamid Raza stated during a talk show that regardless of the outcome of talks with the government, PTI’s founder will be released from jail.
Government talks committee spokesman Irfan Siddiqui revealed in ARY News talk show ’11th Hour’ that negotiations have reached a stalemate, with no progress made. He noted that PTI has not yet submitted its written demands, adding that the initial warmth in the discussions has dissipated.
Hamid Raza emphasized that PTI’s founder has been acquitted or granted bail in all cases, asserting, “He cannot remain imprisoned on fake charges.” He also hinted at the possibility of launching a protest movement if tensions continue.
Responding to a question, Raza said the party has no updates on whether a meeting with its founder in jail would be permitted. Meanwhile, Irfan Siddiqui clarified that no backdoor negotiations are underway, stating, “All processes are being conducted through the negotiating committee.”
Irfan Siddiqui assured that the government will evaluate PTI’s demands on merit but dismissed the notion of securing a release through an executive order, remarking, “Many government officials have also faced jail without such privileges.”
Siddiqui also addressed delays in jail visits, citing security concerns during daily meetings.
