Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has been nominated for Time’s prestigious “Person of the Year” award. At 42, Middleton joins a distinguished list of nominees, recognized for her efforts to initiate crucial conversations about privacy and health for public figures, as reported by the New York Post.
This year, Princess Kate faced significant health challenges, including undergoing abdominal surgery and receiving a cancer diagnosis in January. She took time away from the public eye to focus on her recovery, but has gradually resumed her royal duties.
Her recent appearance at the “Together at Christmas” carol service, which she organized at Westminster Abbey, highlighted themes of love, compassion, and resilience, drawing inspiration from her personal struggles.
Reflecting on the year, she told singer Paloma Faith, “I never expected this year to unfold the way it did. It was unplanned, but I think many people have faced immense challenges this year.”
Other nominees for Time’s “Person of the Year” include President-elect Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Vice President Kamala Harris, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, Mexican mayor Claudia Sheinbaum, podcast host Joe Rogan, and Yulia Navalnaya, widow of the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
The award, which recognizes individuals or groups who have had a profound impact on the world—whether positive or negative—will be announced on December 12. The winner will succeed singer Taylor Swift, who was named Time’s “Person of the Year” in 2023.
