Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has claimed that he still has a ‘last card’ that he will use at an appropriate time.
Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, revealed details of a family visit to the imprisoned leader on Tuesday.
Following the meeting, Aleema Khan reported that Khan, who was kept largely isolated after his arrest on November 24, was shocked to learn of the events that transpired during his detention.
He was reportedly unaware of the situation until Monday, when he met with lawyers and journalists in Adiala Jail.
Aleema Khan stated that for approximately 40-50 hours after his arrest, Khan was held incommunicado, with access to newspapers and PTV (Pakistan Television) blocked. Upon informing him of the post-arrest events, she said he repeatedly asked, “What are you saying?”
Khan reportedly instructed his family to visit hospitals to check on those injured or killed in the post-arrest violence, but Aleema Khan explained that doing so risked arrest. According to Aleema Khan, Khan demanded that the first FIR (First Information Report) be filed against Mohsin Naqvi and Shehbaz Sharif.
He also drew a parallel to the killing of Akbar Bugti, stating, “What you did with Akbar Bugti, do you think eliminating a person brings peace? Baluchistan has not forgotten that.”
