Touted as one of the most expensive movies of the year, Suriya and Bobby Deol’s much-anticipated film, “Kanguva” has finally landed in theaters on Thursday, November 14.
Plot
In “Kanguva”, two parallel timelines are used to link the past and present. One of the main characters Francis (Suriya) is a bounty hunter in 2024 when a child he encounters makes him think of his past. In a parallel world, Kanga, also known as Kanguva (Suriya), is a tribal ruler who is dealing with a series of conflicts a millennium ago. His village, Perumachi, is under threat from Romanians who want to conquer and rule them.
Another tribe, headed by the ominous Udhiran (Bobby Deol), joins forces with the Romanians and threatens the settlement of Perumachi. Before long, the conflict between the clans becomes one between Kanga and Udhiran, the two chiefs. The main plot point of the narrative is the relationship between Francis of today and Kanga of the past.
