Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister once again resorted to using threatening language, stating that those who switch loyalties will not be spared.
Following the approval of the 26th Constitutional Amendment last night, Asad Qaiser took to social media, expressing his concerns.
He said, “Last night, the amendment was passed in an unconstitutional manner in the dark. This amendment is unethical and will only lead to further confrontation between institutions. What was the rush to pass this amendment so quickly?”
Asad Qaiser further stated that everyone knows how the votes were bought unconstitutionally. “Those who claimed to respect the vote have disgraced it. Members were sold for money, and the dignity of Parliament was trampled. The sanctity of private spaces was violated.
The amendment was also passed by the Senate unconstitutionally and illegally. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, being a federation unit, did not have representation in the Senate during this process.”
On the other hand, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that those who changed their loyalties will be held accountable and will not be let off easily. He warned, “We won’t let them digest this so comfortably.”
In his message, Ali Amin Gandapur also criticized the government, saying that the government with a fake mandate attacked the judiciary.
He added, “If they place people of their choice to make decisions, the institutions will not progress. An unconstitutional move was made in the dead of night, and the amendment was passed only to benefit the elite.”
