Former Prime Minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has claimed that he still possesses an audio recording of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, in which the latter allegedly orders his removal from office and the installment of Imran Khan.
Speaking at the “Apna Ghar, Apni Chhat” scheme’s inauguration in Lahore, Nawaz Sharif expressed joy over the launch of this program. He congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, commending the scheme as an excellent example of utilizing public funds for the public good.
He praised the interest-free loan initiative aimed at helping the underprivileged secure homes.
Nawaz Sharif criticized the performance of previous governments, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), highlighting that citizens from KP had to seek medical treatment in Punjab.
Nawaz Sharif questioned the promises made by the ruling party at the time, such as the Billion Tree Project, and emphasized that no significant progress was made under their leadership. He also noted that his governments were never allowed to complete their full terms, which hindered their ability to fully implement development programs.
Sharif further highlighted his party’s contributions to Pakistan, including combating terrorism and making the country a nuclear power. He criticized his political rivals for repeatedly turning to the IMF, contrasting their failures with the achievements of the PML-N.
He also lashed out at political opponents for their lack of accomplishments, describing their protests as unproductive and accusing them of being disruptive. Nawaz Sharif argued that the nation’s infrastructure, like motorways, was built for progress, not for protest.
In a pointed reference to Imran Khan, he remarked on the arrogance of some leaders, stressing that one should remain humble, and questioned why he was removed from office despite the work he had done for the country. He blamed the pillars of the state for contributing to the country’s current challenges, stating that they had not treated the state with the care it deserved.
Nawaz Sharif concluded by asserting that the political unrest and decisions of certain individuals have led Pakistan to its current state, reiterating his claim about the audio recording of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar.
