Karachi: Chairman of the All Karachi Traders Alliance and Aam Aadmi Welfare Association, Ayaz Memon Motiwala, has started selling half-price vegetables to support the inflation-stricken poor.
According to details, Ayaz Memon Motiwala set up a low-cost vegetable stall, under the banner of Doha Jewelers, for the relief of the impoverished public suffering from soaring prices. Speaking at the event, Motiwala highlighted that rising inflation has left the stoves of poor households cold.
He pointed out that due to government mismanagement, basic vegetables like potatoes, onions, and tomatoes are now beyond the reach of the common people, let alone meat and fish.
He stressed that until the economy improves, inflation will continue to rise, and the living conditions of the working class will not improve.
Standing at the stall, Ayaz Memon Motiwala personally sold vegetables such as tomatoes, potatoes, and onions, which were quickly bought up by the public, desperate for relief from high prices. He said the two main issues currently plaguing Pakistan are inflation and unemployment.
Motiwala emphasized that economic prosperity is the only solution to ending inflation and unemployment. He called for increased business activities and better support for traders, noting that despite economic hardships, Karachi’s traders are still keeping the national economy afloat.
Ayaz Memon Motiwala lamented that in the past two years, hundreds of traders have been forced to shut down their businesses due to rising operational costs, making it impossible for them to sustain their work. Motiwala stressed that providing relief to the public should be the government’s top priority.
He concluded by stating that without active industries and factories, the country’s economy will not progress, and the struggles will persist. Ayaz Memon Motiwala also pointed out that even at so-called “cheap markets,” people can no longer find affordable goods.
