Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has claimed that the Islamabad police have taken party chairman Barrister Gohar and Salman Akram Raja into custody.
In a statement issued by PTI, it was mentioned that the Islamabad police stopped Barrister Gohar and Salman Akram Raja’s vehicle near Sector H-13, and the police took them away in a van.
On the other hand, PTI workers threw stones at the police in Committee Chowk, Rawalpindi, after which the police responded with shelling and arrested several PTI activists.
Later, the police released Barrister Gohar and Salman Akram Raja but prevented them from going to Rawalpindi.
Barrister Gohar stated that they were released after being held for a short period.
It is important to note that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has announced a protest in Rawalpindi today, while the Rawalpindi administration has imposed Section 144, under which all routes from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Rawalpindi have been blocked.
