Natasha Danish, who killed two people in a fatal car accident, has been at the center of controversy since the tragic incident on August 19. Recently, photos of her inside prison have gone viral, sparking criticism over allegations of special treatment.
Natasha, wife of prominent Pakistani businessman Danish Iqbal, was responsible for a fatal car crash in Karachi that claimed the lives of a man and his daughter. Driving her Toyota Land Cruiser on Karsaz Road, Natasha collided with multiple vehicles, including motorcycles and a parked car.
The viral photos show Natasha in various prison settings, fueling public outrage. In one image, she is seen casually sitting on a bed, while another shows her smiling and posing with a fellow inmate. The photos also reveal that she has access to amenities such as a fan, a comfortable bed, and even a television—facilities not typically available to the average prisoner. A burqa is also seen hanging on the wall in one of the pictures.
Social media users have expressed anger over what they perceive as preferential treatment for Natasha. However, Sheeba Shah, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the women’s barracks at Karachi Central Jail, has earlier denied any claims of special privileges being granted to the prime suspect in the Karsaz Road accident.
