Pakistan’s captain of the national white-ball team, Babar Azam, has been circulating on social media after a message related to his retirement from Test cricket surfaced following his poor performance in the red-ball series against Bangladesh.
Due to his failure in the Test series against Bangladesh, Babar Azam has faced severe criticism on social media platforms, with fake posts regarding his retirement also going viral.
The first fake post appeared on Monday afternoon, crafted so convincingly that it briefly misled cricket fans.
Within seconds of this initial post, an even more sensational fake retirement announcement was made from a different parody account, quickly going viral and catching the attention of the media.
Azam, who has been consistently underperforming in the longer format of the game, was dismissed after scoring only 11 runs in the second innings of the second Test against Bangladesh.
As the captain of the white-ball team, Babar Azam has managed to score just 331 runs in 106 consecutive Test innings, without a single fifty.
