A 28-year-old woman, reportedly from Belgium, was found bound and gagged on a roadside in Islamabad on Wednesday, following several days of sexual assault, according to local media reports.
The Islamabad Capital Police are currently working to ascertain the identity and nationality of the woman, who claims to be Belgian.
According to a report by Dawn, police discovered the woman on the roadside in Sector G-6/1-3. She told authorities that she had been living in Islamabad for the past six months and had been staying with a man who allegedly raped her repeatedly.

The woman was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. However, the police were unable to obtain a formal statement from her at that time. When police contacted the Belgian embassy, they found no records of such an individual traveling to Pakistan. The embassy then referred the police to the Netherlands mission, as the woman mentioned that her native area was near the border between Belgium and the Netherlands.
The police also sought assistance from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), but they too found no records of a Belgian woman with the given name traveling to Pakistan.
The woman, who had no belongings or identification with her, later led police to a residence in Sector G-7, claiming it to be her place of residence. However, the police reported finding nothing there that could confirm her identity or nationality.
