Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani’s security guards reportedly tortured a young boy in Karachi on Tuesday.
CCTV footage leaked after the incident showed the boy being brutally beaten by multiple guards and struck from behind. Authorities have confirmed that an assault complaint, including allegations of attempted murder and torture, has been filed at the Darakhshan Police Station. The victim’s FIR identifies Haris Jakhrani, son of a PPP lawmaker, as the attacker.

The incident is currently under investigation, and efforts are being made to hold those responsible accountable, according to the police. The victim was attacked outside a gym in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase 5 neighborhood of the port city. Following the assault, he was taken to a private hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
Last year, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Sukkur initiated proceedings against Rafay Hussain Jakhrani, the son of PPP leader Aijaz Jakhrani, and others for attacking a NAB team during a raid at the former federal minister’s house in Jacobabad in June 2021. The NAB Sukkur issued a notice directing Rafay Jakhrani to appear before a Combined Investigation Team (CIT) to record his statement. The inquiry also involves Mujeeb Jakhrani, Khadim Hussain Bhutto, and others.
