Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport to suspend flight operations daily from 5 am to 8 am, starting July 10 and continuing until September 10.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced this measure on Sunday due to the increased presence of birds around the airport during the monsoon season, which poses a significant hazard to aircraft.
This precaution aims to enhance passenger safety by reducing the risk of bird strikes during critical flight operations. Both runways will be non-operational during these hours, affecting domestic and international flights.
The CAA has issued notices to inform all relevant airlines and stakeholders about the temporary closure. Passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for updated schedules and potential delays during this period.
