Recently, the Sindh government auctioned 40 premium number plates in Karachi for the first time, which were purchased by various individuals from the city.
The auction took place at a local hotel where the first number plate, “A1,” was sold for 100 million rupees. It was acquired by businessman Muzamal Kareem, who placed the highest bid. Senior Minister of Sindh, Sharjeel Memon, presented Muzamal Kareem with the ownership certificate.
Another premium number plate, “786,” was purchased by businessman Sorosh for 26.5 million rupees. Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Shah awarded him the ownership certificate for this number plate.
Number plates “A5” and “A7” were sold for 53 million PKR and 46 million PKR, respectively, highlighting the strong demand for these unique numbers.
In total, the 40 number plates generated 67.54 crore PKR for the Sindh government.
The proceeds from the auction, as announced by the ministers, will contribute to the construction of houses for flood victims in Sindh.
