Amazon Prime Video has a lineup of the biggest Indian releases this year starring Bollywood A-listers such as Anil Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor starrer.
Amazon Prime Video has revealed around 69 Indian titles for the 2024 slate with some new films and some with the sequel.
These titles will include Stree 2 which will be available post-theatrical release, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Housefull 5, and Anil Kapoor starrer ‘Subedaar’. Let’s have a look at the notable content that will be released this year:
1) Stree 2
A sequel to 2018’s Stree, ‘Stree 2’ is an upcoming comedy horror film whose plot falls to a ragtag group of friends, Vicky, and company, who save the town once again.
2) Be Happy
Be Happy will feature Abhishek A Bachchan, Nora Fatehi, Nasser, Inayat Verma, and Johny Lever.
3) Kantara – A Legend Chapter 1
Written, directed, and enacted by Rishab Shetty, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 is a prequel to the 2022 Kannada film Kantara.
Kantara – A Legend Chapter 1 will show that there is no calamity greater than lavish desires. Such a calamity caused by a petty king ignites a rage in the heart of God’s chosen tribal leader.
Produced by Lizelle Remo D’Souza and directed by Remo D’Souza, it is the story of a single father and his talented daughter who aspire to perform on the country’s biggest dance reality show.
4) Chhorii 2
A sequel to Nushrratt Bharuccha’s horror film, Chhorii 2 will see the actress’ character Sakshi rescuing her seven-year-old daughter from being sacrificed by an evil cult to satisfy Pradhan Ji, their resident leader while fighting societal superstitions and the horror that continues to haunt her and young women around her.
5) Subedaar
Subedaar, featuring Anil Kapoor, is an adrenaline-fuelled action drama which grapples with civilian life, navigating a strained relationship with his daughter, and societal dysfunction.
The man who once fought for the nation must now fight enemies within to protect his home and family.
6) Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya
Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah’s directorial follows the story of Aaryan is on a quest for love. While on an office tour in the U.S., he meets an alluring woman and falls head over heels. The twist? The woman turns out to be a robot, SIFRA.
Aaryan grapples with navigating the challenges, attempting to keep their unconventional love story alive.
7) Chandu Champion
Kartik Aaryan starrer Chandu Champion is a story of a man who faced one adversary after another with an undying spirit. His unwavering zeal and never-give-up attitude led to India’s first individual gold medal in any form of the Olympics. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan, the movie is co-written by Kabir and Sumit Arora.
8) Housefull 5
Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull franchise will release its fifth film Housefull 5 featuring Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh in leading roles, The movie promises five times the laughter, five times the madness, and five times more confusions.
9) Baaghi 4
Tiger Shroff will reprise his role as Ronnie in action-packed Baaghi 4. Sajid Nadiadwala’s series is known for its high-octane action sequences and intense storylines.
10) Ashwatthama – The Saga Continues
The film, which stars Shahid Kapoor, delves into the legend of Ashwatthama, son of Drona, from the Mahabharata, set in the present age.
The film explores the inner psyche of an immortal being, revealing how he perceives the world he has witnessed for thousands of years. Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh and directed by Sachin B Ravi, the film will see Shahid Kapoor playing Ashwatthama.
