In a decisive move to enhance road safety and ensure vehicle traceability, the City Traffic Police Karachi on Saturday issued a stern ten-day ultimatum for motorcyclists to affix front and rear number plates to their vehicles.
According to a spokesperson for city traffic police, motorcycles without proper number plates will face confiscation after January 22, leaving riders with no room for leniency.
Sub Inspector Mazhar Rehman revealed that the department is allowing citizens a grace period until January 22 to install front and rear number plates on their motorcycles.
Emphasizing the importance of compliance, Rehman stated that failure to adhere to the deadline will result in the immediate impoundment of the vehicle.
The confiscated motorcycles will only be released once proper number plates are visibly installed on both the front and rear sides.
Motorists are urged to act promptly and ensure compliance with the forthcoming deadline to avoid penalties and inconvenience.
It should be noted that the Karachi traffic police have organized a number plate campaign time and again but the response of the motorcyclists was very poor.
