PESHAWAR: At least four people including three policemen embraced martyrdom after terrorists attacked a security checkpost in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to details, terrorists attacked the police post near Lachi Toll Plaza with the latest weapons, in four people including three policemen and a civilian embraced martyrdom.
The martyred policemen were identified as Amjad, Junaid and Waqar. The attack triggered a gunfight that lasted for a while after which the terrorists were forced to flee. A large contingent of police was later rushed to the area where a search operation had been launched.
Last year in August, a blast in a coal mine in Kohat killed three labourers. Reports said that the blast took place in a mine in Akhorwal, a part of Dara Adam Khel.
The mine was being operated by Ilyas Coal Company. In the absence of rescue services, labourers working around the mine helped in getting the men out of the mine.
The blast took place after gas pressure built up in the mine. Reports said that two out of the three labourers belonged to Shangla. The bodies of the three men were sent to their hometowns after funeral prayers.
