LAHORE: The Lahore High Court rejected Tehreek-e-Insaf’s petition against withdrawing the bat emblem, the court pronounced a reserved decision.
According to the details, Justice Jawad Hassan of Lahore High Court gave a reserved decision to reject the application of PTI as inadmissible. Umar Aftab, a local leader of PTI, had filed a petition in the High Court against withdrawing the bat symbol from PTI for the 2024 general elections.
It should be noted that last year, the Election Commission gave a verdict in the PTI intra-party election case, in which it was declared that PTI failed to conduct intra-party elections. A 5-member bench headed by the Chief Election Commissioner delivered its verdict during December. The intra-party election case was authored by Kafisla Ikramullah Khan, under which the bat symbol was withdrawn from the PTI.
The Peshawar High Court, while pronouncing the verdict on PTI’s intra-party election and election symbol case on December 21, ordered the Election Commission to give a verdict on the case on Friday. The two-member bench of the Peshawar High Court, while giving a safe verdict, said that the Election Commission should decide the case of PTI intra-party elections and electoral symbols in accordance with the law.
Chairman PTI Barrister Ali Gohar while talking to the media said that if PTI does not get the symbol of the bat, there is a fear that our candidates will be independent, the disqualification of the founder PTI has been suspended and they will contest the elections.
