A bold new superhero story burst onto the television landscape in 2021 in Prime Video’s star-studded Invincible, which the streamer has since renewed for two more seasons.
From the mind of Robert Kirkman, the man also behind hit franchise The Walking Dead, the series has debuted to critical acclaim from both Invincible fans and critics alike, praising the fresh feeling of the superhero story as well as skilfully adapting some of the darker aspects of Kirkman’s work.
Invincible tells the story of 18-year-old Mark Grayson, whose father is a much-loved and well-respected superhero. Being the son of the most powerful person on the planet comes with its challenges, leaving Mark to figure out who he is while facing continuous threats.

Invincible season 2 is now streaming on Prime Video. The animated series, about a teenage superhero was expected to drop on Friday (Nov. 3) but it arrived slightly ahead of schedule late Thursday.
In an indirect yet seductive manner, Season 2 of Invincible opens with a preview of what novice superhero Invincible/Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) has ahead of him: a look at a another world where Mark teamed up with his father, Omni Man/Nolan (J.K. Simmons), to rule the globe. In addition to establishing some of the story’s emotional stakes—namely, that Mark’s rage and unpredictable nature make him frighteningly similar to his father, a genocidal envoy from the planet Viltrum—this alternate universe depiction of Mark’s potential self-assured identity as the dimension-hopping Angstrom Levy (Sterling K. Brown)—also presents us with a potential antihero.
The Invincible cast includes Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Chris Diamantopoulos, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson, Seth Rogen, and J.K. Simmons.
Seth Rogen, Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Catherine Winder, Simon Racioppa, Margaret M. Dean, Evan Goldberg, Helen Leigh and Cory Walker are executive producers. Robert Kirkman directed the series.
