Pakistani heartthrob Sajal Aly has voiced her opinion about the distribution and nominations of recently held the Lux Style Awards.
Taking to Instagram stories, the Sinf-e-Aahan actress first praised the LSA in general because of their purpose of recognizing the talent. On the contrary, she also expressed her disappointment regarding the LSA’s selection process.
The actress advised LSA to consider hard-working actors like Mehwish Hayat, Zara Noor Abbas, and Ushna Shah in the nominations, who delivered stellar performances in notable projects.
Sajal Aly wrote, “Award shows are a great way to appreciate art and artists and to encourage us as actors. I request Lux Style Awards and their jury to at least nominate those who have done stellar work. It is greatly disappointing to me as an artist that LSA routinely ignores other artists who are doing great work. For example, Mehwish Hayat who was great in London Nahi Jaunga. Zara Noor Abbas for Badshah Begum and Ushna Shah for Habs.”

She asked, “Who exactly are the jury members, do they watch our shows even? Or do they simply choose who is popular?” She added, “It is one thing to not win an award but to simply be ignored even if you have done great work is heartbreaking to not just one artist but to all.”
On the work front, Aly will soon star in the web series ‘The Pink Shirt’ along with Ali Whaj. Apart from the leading actors, the series will also include Nazish Jehangir, Hamza Firdous, Sania Saeed, and Rehan Sheikh in the supporting cast. The web series will be debuted on SXSW, Sydney 2023 on 16 October 2023.
