When it comes to social issues, our drama always covers unusual stories with twisted plots with great moral lessons, and ‘Mayi Ri’ is one of them.

Based on early-age, forced, and cousin marriage and most importantly how it affects the lives of youngsters, Mayi Ri has become everyone’s favorite.

Mayi Ri centres around a young couple Ainee and Fakhir who are school-going teenagers and as well as cousins. They are forced to marry each other under family pressure which deteriorates their educational, personal, family, and future life.

Their long-going family tradition of getting married at a young age forces their fates together but without acceptance. However, despite their differences, they try to make their relationship work due to their family.

The drama has already crossed 50 episodes and here are a few lessons we have learned from Mayi Ri:

  • The drama serial is basically a reminder of how a wrong decision about marriage can destroy multiple lives.
  • The drama gives a great lesson about the importance of education in the lives of young girls and boys.
  • The drama highlights the effects of early-age marriages as well as child marriages.
  • The drama is a disclaimer that people should only marry after getting mature especially.
  • People who believe that they are strong enough to face the challenges of life together, regardless of their age, should marry.
  • The drama also describes society and the issues related to property and troubled marriages.
  • Another lesson one should learn from the leading characters Annie and Fakhir is: ‘Two married individuals who think they are forced into a wedlock should not become parents soon after their marriage, especially, when they are not ready for any responsibility.’
