NEW YORK: International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Kristalina Georgieva met caretaker Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar during which more tax collection from the rich has been emphasized.
According to the details, in a statement after the meeting with caretaker PM Anwar ul Haq Kakar in New York, the head of the IMF said that the only thing the fund has to say to Pakistan is to collect more taxes from the rich and protect the poor.
The managing director of the IMF said that the people of Pakistan also want the rich to pay taxes and the poor to be protected. Caretaker PM Anwar ul Haq said that the meeting with the head of the IMF was constructive.

Caretaker PM Anwar ul Haq said that during the meeting efforts for economic cooperation and stability were discussed. The commitment of Pakistan and the IMF to take measures for economic development and stability was also reiterated.

It should be noted that earlier caretaker PM Anwar ul Haq met Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi during which the situation in the region including Pakistan-Iran relations was discussed. The need to promote mutual cooperation was emphasized.
