ISLAMABAD: The Torkham border crossing has been restored for all traffic after 10 days after Afghanistan assured that its territory would not be used against Pakistan.
According to the border sources, the border crossing has been restored for all traffic after 10 days. Several people going to Afghanistan lined up in front of the Torkham immigration section, where immigration staff check travel documents and allow them to enter Afghanistan. Similarly, the movement of freight vehicles on the border has also started.
According to border sources, 10 days ago, tensions arose over the establishment of a checkpost between Pakistan and Afghanistan, due to which the Torkham border crossing was closed to all traffic.

Earlier, Afghan Foreign Minister Maulvi Amir Khan Mutaqi had requested to open the border by assuring that the Afghan territory would not be used against Pakistan in a meeting with the Pakistani Affairs Minister. The Torkham border was closed for 9 days, and commercial activities were completely suspended.
