KARACHI: A case has been registered against the business leader and his associates for torturing K-Electric staff.
The business leader of the timber market along with his colleagues torturing the K-Electric staff became expensive, the Napier Police registered a case against Sharjeel Gopalani and his other unidentified accomplices on the complaint of K Electric officer Tahir Ali.
In FIR No. 136 of 2023, the provisions of 147, 149, 342, 504, 506B, and 337A have been added. According to the plaintiff, he works as an officer in K-Electric IBC Lyari 2 and along with his staff went to the Timber market in Gali Pilu Compound where he along with his staff was engaged in work when Timber Market President Sharjeel Gopalani and 25 others. Around 30 people started torturing the staff.

The plaintiff said that some of the staff were injured due to the violence of the traders. The police registered a case in light of the plaintiff’s case statement and handed over the investigation to the police for further investigation.
On the other hand, business organizations have strongly condemned the filing of a case against Sharjeel Gopalani, while the business leader has announced his arrest at 10 a.m. in the Napier police station.
The business organizations also announced a shutdown strike on the arrest of Sharjeel Goplani. It should be noted that the video of the torture of K-Electric staff went viral on social media in which K-Electric staff were seen being tortured.
