ISLAMABAD: An district and sessions court on Tuesday approved the pre-arrest interim bail of the main suspect accused in the case of allegedly torturing minor girl Rizwana.
The case was heard by Additional Sessions Judge Abida Sajjad. Advocate Jehangir Jadoon appeared before the court on behalf of the victim Rizwana.
The court ordered submitting the original national identity card of the main accused Soumya Asim. The court adjourned the hearing till the identity card was presented. The court granted bail to the main accused till August 7. It ordered to submit bonds worth one lakh rupees.
Soumya Asim, the main suspect in the case of allegedly torturing minor girl Rizwana, who worked as a domestic maid, sought pre-arrest bail in the case.
The application said the petitioner is accused of torturing 14-year-old Rizwana, who worked in her house. While accepting the young girl was employed at her residence, the petitioner said the complete information is not mentioned in the FIR.
The petitioner claimed that she is the wife of a learned judge and is innocent in the case and never tortured the minor girl. She urged to court to grant her bail in the case.
Earlier, the wife of the civil judge was granted protective bail in the case till August 1. Justice Farooq Haider of Lahore High Court (LHC) heard the protective bail plea and granted the protective bail to the accused.
Rizwana was allegedly subjected to brutal torture by the wife of a civil judge in Islamabad and a case was lodged by the girl’s parents at a local police station.
The wife of civil judge Asim Hafeez deputed at the Federal Judicial Academy allegedly tortured the girl after blaming her for stealing gold jewelry.
The girl was handed over to her parents who took her to Sargodha where she was under treatment before being shifted to Lahore General Hospital.
