DUBAI: UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has arrived in Istanbul on a working visit to Turkey.
During his visit, he will discuss strengthening strategic ties with brother country Turkey and advancing comprehensive economic partnership.
The UAE’s official press agency Emirates News Agency (WAM) said that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was welcomed at the airport by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish Foreign Minister Khaqan Fidan, and several ministers and senior officials.

During the visit to Turkey, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is accompanied by a high-powered delegation, including UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Royal Court, Sheikh Nahyan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Al-Sheikh Hamdan bin Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, is also accompanying him in this visit.
In this special visit to Turkey, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the Special Affairs of the Royal Diwan of the United Arab Emirates, as well as Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Muhammad Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President, Secretary General of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Al Shamsi, Minister of Industry Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al-Jaber of Biotechnology is also present.
It is worth noting that the two countries signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement last March, which aims to increase non-oil trade to $40 billion annually within five years and create 25,000 new jobs by 2031. The visit is significant in terms of efforts to expand trade and economic relations between the two countries.
The President of the Emirates has visited Turkey at a time when President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan has been elected for the third term in the country’s parliamentary elections.
