LONDON: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and supremo of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, has said that his party only recognizes the decision of the Supreme Court’s 4-3 bench. He made this remark during an interaction with a group of selected media persons in London on Thursday.

When asked about the same-day elections case scheduled to be heard in the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday, Mr Sharif replied by stating that his party only recognizes the decision made by a 4-3 bench of the Supreme Court and not a 3-2 bench.
It may be mentioned here that Nawaz Sharif had left Pakistan in 2019 under the pretext of seeking treatment abroad, and he is yet to return to Pakistan despite his brother in power for more than a year. Pakistani courts have declared him a proclaimed offender for failing to respond to several summons.
During the interaction, another journalist questioned Mr Sharif about individuals who once ridiculed illness and are now using wheelchairs to appear in court. Mr Sharif replied that he believed it was a sign from Allah Almighty and that he had entrusted his affairs to Him.
Meanwhile, media reports suggest that Mr Sharif also held meetings with economic experts from China and Britain. Economic problems faced by Pakistan and their solutions were discussed during the meeting. Mr Sharif also appreciated the opinions of the experts.
