KARACHI: Malir Court on Thursday granted pre-arrest bail to several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including former Sindh governor Imran Ismail, in a case related to the creation of chaos outside the court during the remand hearing of PTI Sindh President Ali Zaidi.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), Imran Ismail, along with 200 PTI leaders, climbed on a police van outside Malir court and hurled abuses at the police during Ali Zaidi’s court appearance. The FIR was registered against the PTI leadership at Malir City police station for interfering in state affairs.
In response to the charges, PTI leaders approached the Malir Court, which granted them pre-arrest bail and directed them to submit surety bonds of Rs. 5,000 each, with instructions to join the investigation.
The court’s decision to grant pre-arrest bail to the PTI leaders has brought some relief to the party, which has been facing a wave of criticism over its alleged involvement in creating chaos outside the court.
