ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have announced that they are fully prepared to provide “foolproof and world-class” security for the New Zealand cricket team during their upcoming visit to Pakistan.
The announcement comes in response to media reports that the police had refused to provide security for the series due to a lack of resources.
In a statement on Twitter, the Islamabad Police said that they had flawlessly provided the highest level of security during the visit of the English cricket team and the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League.

However, it is worth noting that during the proceedings regarding the delay of elections in the Supreme Court, the government has taken the position that the security apparatus was unable to provide security for elections in two provinces, citing multiple reasons.
Despite this, the Islamabad Police remain confident in their ability to provide end-to-end security for the New Zealand cricket team.
According to a schedule issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board, the first three games will be played in Lahore from April 14-17. The teams then move to Rawalpindi for the last two T20s and the opening One-day International of the five-match series, which culminates in Karachi on May 7.
