ISLAMABAD: The local court of the federal capital has rejected the bail application of former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad.
According to the details, the bail application of the former federal minister was heard in the District and Sessions Court Islamabad. In addition to Sheikh Rasheed’s lawyers Intizar Panjotha and Sardar Abdul Razzaq, Prosecutor Adnan also appeared.
Giving arguments during the hearing of the case in the court, Sheikh Rasheed’s lawyer Sardar Abdul Razzaq said that an FIR of conspiracy and clash between two political parties was registered on the statement of Sheikh Rasheed. Provisions cannot be imposed by the city government.

Lawyer Sardar Abdul Razzaq said that Sheikh Rasheed did not make any statement regarding any nationality, linguistic groups, or religious groups on which such provisions can be imposed.
Sardar Abdul Razzaq said that former President Asif Zardari has defamed Sheikh Rasheed. The court is requested to approve Sheikh Rasheed’s bail application. The prosecutor said that the Islamabad High Court did not stop the registration of the case.
The prosecutor said that the High Court had only suspended the notice. During the trial, the investigation is conducted under the law, which is not stopped by the court. Sheikh Rasheed’s statement was very provocative, his crime is not common but his punishment can be 7 years.
The Sessions Court, after hearing the arguments of both sides, reserved its decision on Sheikh Rasheed’s bail application. Later, Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Supra ruled that former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed’s bail application has been rejected.
