ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the United Arab Emirates has extended the repayment period of the $2 billion loan given to Pakistan.
In his message on Twitter, Ishaq Dar said that Abu Dhabi has extended the loan period of 2 billion dollars due to the visit of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to the United Arab Emirates.
In a Twitter message, the Federal Finance Minister said that PM Shehbaz Sharif had discussed with the President of the United Arab Emirates about increasing the loan period during the official visit.

It should be noted that the prime minister visited the United Arab Emirates last week. Emirati President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had expressed his determination to extend the term of the $2 billion loan.
The Emirati president also announced another $1 billion loan to Pakistan. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked President Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan and expressed his determination to promote Pakistan-Arab Emirates relations.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had taken Ishaq Dar along with other federal ministers for a visit to UAE. This was the Prime Minister’s third visit to the UAE after assuming power.
