NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old woman has badly hit and run over by a speedy car while she was feeding a stray dog late at night. The incident, captured on a CCTV camera, happened in Chandigarh where the woman identified as Tejaswita, was seen feeding the dog when a car at high speed ran over her.

According to multiple media reports, the accused is a retired Army Major, Sandeep Sahi, who was arrested after the incident. He is a resident of Army flats in phase 2 in Mohali. As per the police inputs, the retired Army Major has a security agency in Rajasthan.
Local police said the retired Army Major, Sandeep Sahi was on his way to Chandigarh 43 Bus Stand where he routinely goes to have tea, and after the incident, he thought he had hit some vehicle, so he did not stop, but to assess the damage he stopped a little ahead but did not notice the accident.
Meanwhile, Tejaswita’s mother Manjinder Kaur told local media that they had already filed a complaint and an FIR had been registered.
The victim, Tejaswita Kaushal is an architect and is presently preparing for the UPSC and other competitive examinations. Her mother Manjinder Kaur said that they have been feeding stray dogs for the last six years, since 2017. They feed stray dogs in different pockets, starting from sec 43 to the furniture market.
