Famous Canadian singer The Weeknd’s song ”Blinding Lights’ has surpassed has officially become the most-streamed song in Spotify history.
According to chart data, ‘Blinding Lights’ now boasts 3.332 billion streams on the platform, just slightly more than ‘Shape Of You’. The two tracks are the only ones to surpass the 3 billion mark on Spotify to date.
In 2021, ‘Blinding Lights’ broke the record for the most weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100. “Blinding Lights” has three official remixes: one by electronic band Chromatics, one by electronic dance music group Major Lazer, and one featuring singer-songwriter Rosalía.

The song was written and produced by the Weeknd alongside Swedish musicians Max Martin and Oscar Holter, with fellow Canadian musicians Belly and DaHeala receiving additional writing credits. The song was met with universal acclaim.
It is the longest charting song by a solo artist on the Hot 100 of all time, spending 90 weeks on the chart. The song finished 2020 as the year’s top Billboard Hot 100 song. The song also peaked at number one on the Canadian Hot 100, giving the Weeknd his fifth number-one hit on the chart. It topped the record charts in the United Kingdom and 36 other countries.
