LAHORE: Pakistan has won Central Asian Volleyball Championship, defeating Iran in the final by 3-1 in Lahore. The 5-nation championship was held for first in Pakistan after a gap of 17 years.

Besides Pakistan, teams of Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan took part in the event.
The home side won first two sets by 16-25 and 17-25, respectively. However, Iran rallied back in the third set, winning it by 25-23.
In the fourth set, Pakistan were on song as they clinched it to register title victory.
After a gap of 17 years, the five-nation competition was staged for the first time in Pakistan. The event was held here in the Gymnasium Hall of the Sports Board Punjab.
