KARACHI: Various tea-producing companies have jacked up the prices of different brands of tea leaves by Rs 350 per kg, after which tea price per kg has reached Rs 1700.
Apart from this, at the retail level, the price of broiler chicken has increased by 8 rupees to 422 rupees per kg, the price of live broiler chicken with the increase of Rs5 has reached 281 rupees per kg. The price of farm eggs increased by 1 rupee to 268 rupees per dozen.
Since the slight increase in the severity of winter, the prices of chicken and farm eggs have been increasing, while the management has failed to control the situation.
Meanwhile, the weekly inflation in Pakistan, measured by the Sensitive Price Index (SPI), increased by 0.62 percent for the week ended on November 17.
According to the data issued by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the SPI for the week under review was recorded at 216.82 points against 216.48 points registered in the previous week,.
