KARACHI: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inaugurated the highly prestigious defense exhibition IDEAS – 2022 here on Tuesday.

Federal Minister for Defence production Muhammad Israr Tareen, Sindh Chief Minster Syed Murad Ali Shah and high civil and military official were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
Speaking on this occasion, Foreign Minister said “we inherited an economic catastrophe where Pakistan was on the precipice of a default. But with the grace of God, and the efforts of our unity government, Pakistan was saved from the brink of an economic crises.”
He said the best way to safeguard and strengthen national security was to achieve economic self-reliance, rebuild and strengthen political institutions, deliver the 21st century’s governance, ensure rule of law, and put the people at the center of public policy
He said that the government was encouraging private sector’s participation in defense production.

During his speech, Bilawal said that the coalition government had been facing various challenges for the past 6 months, however, steps were taken to improve foreign policy, economy and the country’s overall situation.

He said Pakistan faced dangerous floods due to climate change, and immediate steps were taken to solve the problems faced by the flood victims.
