Imran Khan announces country-wide mass mobilization against govt

MM News Staff by MM News Staff
August 14, 2022

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has announced to hold gatherings across the country including Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad while addressing a huge rally at Lahore’s Hockey Ground on Saturday.

The former prime minister addressed a rally at the National Hockey Stadium, where the party celebrated 75 years of Pakistan’s independence — marked with fireworks and traditional songs.

“I today want to announce my next plan of action, firstly I’ve decided to go out among the people, I’ll go to them, I’ve made a plan for a whole tour,” Imran said, adding that he would hold a rally in Rawalpindi next week, and then in Karachi a few days later.

He said he wanted the people to take his message of “real freedom” to every doorstep.

The former prime minister predicted that come next Aug 14, “we will have taken our haqeeqi azadi (actual freedom).”

At the beginning of speech, the former primier said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah freed the nation from the slavery of the British and refused to leave them in the slavery of anyone else.

“He (Quaid) noted that Muslims have always lived as an independent nation.. he also clarified that the Muslims want a sovereign state,” the PTI chairperson said.

Khan added that he also wants a sovereign Pakistan and vowed to not beg to any foreign power.

Prophet Muhammad turned Muslims into the leaders of the world through an intellectual revolution. They gained that status by focusing on two things, education and overcoming their fear.

He added that as Prime Minister he constituted the Rehmatul Lil Alamin authority, to teach our kids about the life of our beloved prophet. He did not want our kids to become slaves to the western civilization, he added.

Khan also announced the formation of a new “Tiger Force”, claiming that it will work for “independence” as the people did before the partition.

“I am telling my nation, be ready, you have to go door-to-door and inform the people of my message about independence. Tell them that they should not be afraid of anything.”

Khan claimed that the government would try to frighten the PTI supporters, but he told them that if their “captain” is not afraid of anything, then neither should they be.

Reiterating that he only wants to look after the country’s interests, Khan said that he is not “anti-America” and wishes to have a friendly relationship with the United States.

“I know America and the United Kingdom better than most of the Pakistanis, I know their psychology; if you beg them, they will use you,” the ex-premier said.

The PTI chairman added that he has never bowed before anyone and neither will he bow down in the future.

He added that he wants to have good relations with every country including the U.S, but can not accept slavery. He had good relations with former U.S President Donald Trump, he added.

He added that India bought Oil from Russia because it was in its people’s interest but our government did not have the guts to do so, despite skyrocketing inflation. If India can safeguard the interests of their people why cannot our government do the same? Because they are afraid about their foreign properties, he added.

Khan castigated the incumbent government, saying that Defense Minister Khawaja Asif — when he was in the opposition — claimed that the United States has “Pakistan on a ventilator”.

He added that their government was ousted by a conspiracy, but they came back and won the Punjab by-polls despite rigging. Now they have hatched a plan to lodge cases against me and disqualify me, and call Nawaz Sharif back to Pakistan, he added.

“Imran Khan would not accept any deal”

He added that they want to equate him with convicted criminal Nawaz Sharif. He would give “a warm welcome” to Nawaz Sharif whenever he returns to Pakistan, he added.

The PTI Chief added that they are trying to cause a fight between the country’s biggest party and the armed forces. Imran Khan would never want to weaken the Armed forces, he added.
