K-electric has imposed a tax on the electricity bills of the shops after the recent increase in the price of electricity. The All-City Traders Association called the tax on electricity bills of shops excessive.
The All City Traders’ Association said that imposing a sales tax of Rs 6,000 on the electricity bill of every shop in Karachi since June is excessive for the shopkeepers.
In this regard, the president of the chamber said that while imposing taxes, the government did not differentiate the size of the shop. On the other hand, Sindh Sarafa Bazar Jewelers Association also rejected the decision to impose a 40 thousand monthly tax on jewelers.
It should be noted that a decision of 6 thousand monthly sales tax was also made on the bills of the shops by K Electric. Which Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman condemned and said that we are with the business community and will soon announce the future action plan together with them.
He said that all the ruling parties are calling K Electric as the best company, now tell them why K Electric is overbilling.
