KABUL: At least 12 people were killed and more than 23 injured in a blast at a mosque in Afghanistan during Friday prayers.
According to Afghan media, the blast occurred inside a mosque in Kunduz province. As per initial reports, at least 12 people were killed and 23 others injured in the blast. Some reports said that the blast took place in Imam Sahib city of Kunduz during Friday prayers.
The Kunduz police chief said in a statement that the blast was caused by a landmine planted in the mosque during Friday prayers at around 1.30pm.
According to police, security forces have reached the spot and the injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
